    R.i.p apollo

Morning guys, we had just woken up to the news that Apollo past away. We lost him to parvovirose and even tho we tried everything that we possibly could he didnt make it. We are devastated and extremely sad. We had hopes of him making it since he had improved a bit gotten little stronger... but in the end we lost him. He was more than just a dog, more than just a fila, he was our baby i am crying as i write this. I also wanted to make a statement that if anyone who lives outside of the states especially in South America, national vaccines are worthless, you need the imported ones. Thanks to all of you who helped me through this tough time. I am happy because we gave him a great life and he was a very happy dog, he will for ever live in our hearts.

    Sincerely,
    Dario Ferron

    Hi Dario,

I'm truly truly sorry for your loss. There aren't many words I can say to ease the pain you and your wife are going through right now. I too thought he was going to pull through and recover. He wasn't just your puppy, he was your baby and even though he was with you for a brief time--you should feel good because you provided him with a happy loving home and in return he loved and adored you for doing so. Cherish the time you had with him and grieve...grieve as long as you need to in order for you to feel better. You will never forget him, but trust me, the pain gets easier to bear with time.

Deidei, thanks. We are starting to make plans for our new house, and we decided that our new home will need a new fila, so that makes us feel more i dont know if better would be the right word but in a way it is.

I am sorry to hear that. My Fila's are my buddies and it would hurt me tremendously to lose either of them.

oh dude, I'm sorry to hear that. from your explanations I was sure he was going to pull through. Where in Brazil are you and what breeders are you close to? When you are ready for another Fila I can help you find a good one if you'd like.

Thanks everyone, But there is no reason to be sorry, i think everything happens for a reason and Apollo died happily. I learned many things, and made many mistakes that wont be repeated. Apollo will never be replaced because he was special, he had the most amazing personality and traits. Everything that filas are he was and more. I never had such an amazing dog and i will stick to filas for the rest of my life. As soon as i buy the new house i will get another fila. By the way, in a previous comment i had stated that my dog had no pedigree, well both the parents had great backgrounds and good pedigree, his father was son of a champion, only reason why Apollo didn't have it was because the breeder only breeds for a hobby, like only once for each dog unlike other breeders that live off of em. So he didnt worry about the pedigree so he could sell them cheaper, he only sells to family and friends. But anywayz, thanks all and visit my facebook at bigd1622@hotmail.com to see pictures of our sleeping friend.
