Help in Arizona
Any rescue people in Arizona on this forum? I might need help with a Fila girl out that way.
Thanks

Hi Paul,
Bret Bartels lives in Arizona, he is a delegate for the Fila Brasileiro Assoc. he might know of someone who can help.
His information is on the FBA Assoc. website under delegates.

Thanks for the info. At this point I should have this rescue back here in Florida by Tuesday......If things go as planned.

Hope all goes well Paul! Good Luck to you and your rescue.

Things did not go as planned and now I am hoping for this Sunday (tomorrow). Brandi girl (Fila) will be back in Florida with me. I actually rescued her years ago and sent her out to live in Arizona but now she needs to come back to me so....just like a good breeder. If you sell a puppy you still have some responsibility for that dog. If that dog needs to come back to you then do the right thing. Same goes for rescues. If you rescue a dog and place it in a home and it doesn't work out then you take that dog back. I am not trying to force my morals on anyone. This just seems to be common sense to me. Sunday is the day and I'll have some pics by mid week for sure. Oh she is a beautiful brindle around 5 or so and should be in good health still. I am looking forward to having her back and there will be great relief.
Thanks for the good vibes chocolatemoose. If I get a nip it is only because she is pissed I sent her away in the first place and what the hell another plane ride in that damn crate. LOL LOL I know what brand of hotdog she likes best and she loves toys (stuffed animals) so I'll be prepared to reintroduce myself to her again. I have to many scars and I am to old to let myself get nipped these days. I'll keep her in the crate and get her home into a nice dog run. I'll then let her out and see the reaction I get when she can tell it is me again. I am thinking and hoping she will remember me and she knows how I love to spoil her so....life will be good when I get her back. If she comes out all piss and vinegar I'll feed her for two days and then she will be fine. I waited until the third day the first go round with this girl but I made a good impression on her so I do believe this Fila will come back and be very happy to see me. I will either have pictures or more scars very soon. lol lol funny but true!

Do you have her yet? Any Scars? lol

Yeah, I got her. Monday at 4pm she landed in Tampa and I took her home. She did not give me a warm greeting. I guess bonding with me 3 years ago and then sending her off to Arizona did not leave her happy with me. The only thing she gave me was no barking at me with eye contact and she took hotdogs (her fav) out of my hand without being mean. I did have a breakthrough yesterday. She took a stuffed animal, she likes to call them her babies, from me and wagged her tail proper like with approval. That was Wednesday but on Tuesday she was not willing to take a baby so things are getting better. I'll get some pics up later today. It has been hot outside and I am feeling it while trying to construct kennels/dog runs. I went through hell trying to get her back and I am so relieved she is finally here. No scars but she still is not interested in me petting her. The first time I had her she was very sweet and loved it when I fussed over her. I guess I'll take it slow and try to get her back to that girl I sent away. Makes me wonder.

She'll come back to you. Just a little love and time. Don't forget to post pics...
We just got our rescue last Thursday. It was a heck of alot easier than I thought it was going to be. Now we just have to get a lot of weight on her.

Here you go. I posted some pics of the Fila girl on my blog.

Thanks for the link. Nice looking girl. She still looks a little leary in one pic. We took our new one to the vet yesterday and like a typical female fila, everything was going along just fine until the vet tech decides to raise her hand up to itch her eyebrow. Boom...Ziva let her know that we play "ZIVA SAYS" you must ask "Ziva may I" before you move...LOL
