    Woooo-whooo! Finallly here

Wanted to share some pictures. Boy, this time was not like the last! Furthermore...getting an x-ray the week before, does NOT guarantee you won't have an "Oh My Gosh" moment. We sure did! Thought all was over with the 7 delivered by midnight, cleaned up, resting up. Was awoken at 2:30 a.m. with a "I have to go pee" look. Let her out, she returned a minute later carrying the 8th puppy in her mouth !! I'm never going to let that happen again

I'll keep updating to share with you all. I think I'll try and get some sleep now.

  3. That is wonderful news! Mom looks to be in excellent condition. When you wake up and things settle down please come back and tell us more. Like how much do they weigh? Are they brindles? Yada Yada Yada.

Very happy and excited for you!

    Good Morning,

    Got some solid sleep!

Thank you for asking, being a novice at breeding, I really do want to talk about it with people who love the breed, and like the owners.

No brindles, there are none in the lines. Savage and his father have that 'sable' appearance. I only have one litter experience so I'm an idiot on anticipating exact colors. Three heads are definitely lighter in color than the others, just in the last day their bodies are lighter also. The lighting in the room doesn't do justice in the camera lens

On Savage's and Juicy's pages on the web site I have ancestor photos going back the GREAT/GREAT/GREAT/GREAT/GREAT parents, and the majority of the Dourado (?Red/Fawn?) are present. Savage has his unique color from his Dad, we'll see if it carries.

Juicy's genes were pretty strong in the first litter on a number of points so I'll get to compare those to this litter.

Compared the the last litter....which ranged from 1 lb up to 1.9 lbs, and were all shaped a little differently....this litter is all either 1.2 or 1.3 lbs and they look like carbon copies [except for the colors of course]. Last litter, they all equalized out to a consistent look, so what does that mean this time?!

    Best wishes always,

angelbears, from what I know one of the parents must be brindle in order to get any brindles in a litter, fawn parents cannot produce brindle pups.

Diane, The colors are plenty crazy to figure out, I remember having one that looked like a weimeraner in color and then by 2 mths he looked baio and now just a very light fawn but not a real baio color...even seasoned breeders had no clue. I thought it would turn out to be cinza but that would be the first ever cinza produced from brindles...In the same litter there was a dark red female that is now just barely med fawn and one that was almost black which turned out to be light brindle...gotta see a variety of colors when theyr pups to get really good I guess, lol.

    Brasileirokid,

I would really like to own cinza. I've only seen pictures, but it is a beautiful touch. Good to know you have the same experience with coat colors.

I've got a question for you....or anyone for that matter. One of the puppies in this litter is a REAL CRUISER. I'm not kidding when I say his activity level is Super-Dog. At first Juicy would whine for him to be back near her, now she just looks after him. Our whelping box is 4' x 6', and he will literally run circuits. Not just the wiggle and move a little, stop, wiggle and move a little. He is digging his back legs and cruising.

The rest of the litter seems normal in movements. Just similar to my first litter. Normal activity, normal sleep, normal twitching. His eating pattern is just as active as all the rest, he does sleep as much as the rest.

I know this because I have no life So far most of my time is sitting in there watching what goes on. I'm sure I will be cured of this sooner or later!

What do you think about this behaviour?

be careful what you wish for with the cinza, that color variation seems to come w/ different charateristics as well such as short muzzle...dont know why that is. I had on ethat was as you say "a cruiser". ended up being the smartest, very confident and really good fila temp (bonded strong and very protective). not sure if that had anything to do w/ it but just how she turned out.

Congratulations! Such nice looking puppies. Do your Filas stalk? I have heard that some Filas will stalk like cats, but I don't know if this is normal for all Filas or just for some. I was reading up on the breed and came across that, so I thought I'd ask.

    Thanks!

Thank you Candace They crouch and step forward to "stalk" the birds that have the temerity to land and peck the ground in our yard. They also stalk each other when they are playing chase. That's the funniest because sometimes they'll do it on each other at the same time. It's like an old western gunfight
