Do I need to? Look at the picture.. What I'm also saying is that the official nationa/international dog clubs are issueing pedigrees for "fila x's" as if they were purebred..

A picture speaks a million words..
Do I need to say anything? He's a wonderful dog - but, I'd never breed him - even having a fila pedigree for him.

What I am saying is that the CBKC issues pedigrees for dogs that are not pure-bred, and the FCI endorses it and perpetuates this fraud - while violating their own rules and regulations.
Also, never having investigated the admittance of ex-presidents of the CBKC and breeders about insupervised and undocumented hybridation and crossbreeding.

  3. In other words you are saying dogs registered with CBKC - FCI are not true FIla's and therefore mixed mutts.

    Chocolate,

what I got from what Ligia is saying is that CBKC is aware of the mix breeding and is not doing anything about it, infact they almost encourage it by allowing dogs into their registry that obviously do not even conform to the standard they have put forth. There is only one reason to be so blatant and that is $$$. to say that mix breeding within the fila breed is large scale is an understatment. when the president of CBKC says it, the breeders say it and it is also so painfully obvious to see with ones own eyes, what more can a person deduce other than that cbkc allows this for nothing more than profit?
Now with all that said, NOT all dogs registered with the cbkc are "mutts" but way too many are.

  5. So who is doing all this mix-breeding? You say do your research. Well, there is not a lot of good information out there. If Cafib really cares about the breed then shouldn't they be getting information out about kennels that are mix-breeding?

Just read what I wrote - don't read into it..

plain english: the CBKC issues pedigrees for dogs that are not pure-bred, and the FCI endorses it and perpetuates this fraud

They also DO NOT accept DNA notations on their pedigrees. Meanwhile, other breeds recognized by the FCI have them..Why would that be?

The Cafib did that in the 80's. Already - They had proof, they had testimony and they had the dogs to prove it.
They do really care, that is why their standard remains unchanged for 33 years and they do their evaluations and issue their own Registry. Currently there are 1300 dogs with Cafib pedigree.
It's an independant dog Club in Brazil, where the CBKC is not legally recognized as the only club or entity permitted to issue pedigrees.

Here is the only reliable source of information available on the Internet about this topic : http://filabrasileirochicopeltier.com.br/17.html

Is that a judge touching a Fila? Lol that's hilarious. I don't think that guy would get 10 feet from mine. Now my black one would probably smother him to death lol.
