Just found out my dog is a fila
I adopted her last summer from the county animal control back home. she was listed as a mastiff mix. I started trying to find any mix that looked like my girl with no luck. then in trying to figure out what she could be crossed with I found filas. I contacted a couple breeders who confirmed my suspicions. So i can now proudly say I have a fila

I've had her for a year now. She's ok around strangers unless they are acting sketchy then she will put herself in between me and them. If new people come to visit my house Nanna has to be crated first while she sees that they are permited. As long as they don't make any agressive moves or have that type of body language she stays fairly calm. Since I have a small child in the house I've made it a point to socialize her during the time I've had her. I have had to tell my son's friends to leave her be at times they try to get too close to her kennel for her comfort & she reminds them with forcefull barking. My only problem with her is sometimes she has snapped at my husband when he's been trying to put her into her kennel. I think its just because he doesn't work with her as much as I do & it's been more likely once he's been away on buisness.
