Hunter is a 100-pound fila. We have had him for 4 years, he was abandoned at about 9 months of age at a shopping center. Our vet identified his breed and age. For several years, all was well between him and our other dogs, but this last year, he and another male (a sheppard/chow mix) have had some nasty fights. July 4th, they had a bad one and we just can't do this any more, it is not fair to us or the dogs. We have tried many things to change this situation, but random triggers set one of them off and the other will not back down. I am really, really sad about this, but trying my best to do the right thing.
Hunter is great with females and non-dominant males, like my daughter's male white lab and our male Italian greyhound, however I would strongly recommend a 1-dog home. He is loving, playful, smart, and devoted. He's protective if someone comes to the door, but perfectly fine once they are invited in.
